Workshops on Tap
A variety of workshops are scheduled to include subjects on Record-Keeping and Billing, Running your Child Care Business, Child Development, Literacy, Early Childhood Education, Childhood Behaviors and Disorders, Childhood Nutrition as well as some hands-on fun with Science, Arts and Crafts and So MUCH MORE!
SIDS & SBS Training
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Shaken Baby Syndrome training will be available on Thursday, April 24 at 7:00 PM.
If you are registered for the conference, there is no additional charge for this training for conference attendees. Training will be held at the AFCCA office at 2207 E Tudor Road, Suite 34.
If you are staying at the Millennium Alaskan Hotel, transportation will be provided to/from the hotel by AFCCA.

Facility Home Tour
Per request, AFCCA will be offering an additional training opportunity, a Facility Home Tours will be held on Friday, April 25 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
The tour will include family child care homes in the Anchorge area. The tour will begin and end at the Millennium Alaskan Hotel. Transportation will be provided by AFCCA.
There is an additional $10.00 fee to join the tour. Participants will be given a training certificate for an additional two hours which will include the tour and open discussion about the visited enviornments.

IRF Grants
The Individual Reimbursement Fund offers a 75% reimbursement for education expenses per year up to $500.
Travel Grant
The Travel Grant is to assist providers in rural areas to travel to training. Approval must be made in advance of the actual travel date.

Annual Membership Meeting.

Volunteer of the Year
AFCCA will be passing out ballots for voting during conference on both Friday and Saturday for AFCCA's Volunteer of the Year. Every year, AFCCA recognizes many individuals (click here 2007's volunteers) who help with the many details of this organization, from day to day operations, meetings, training, the annual conferenece and more.
All member of the AFCCA Executive Board, Chapters, and/or Committees are all VOLUNTEERS in their positions.
The AFCCA is the proud sponsor of the Alaska Family Child Care Food Program. The AFCCA Executive Board oversees operations of the program. Staff of AFCCFP are paid staff through Federally & State funded/regulated USDA Child Adult Care Food Program in which reimburses licensed and approved home child care providers for meals served to children in care.
Please help us recognize one member for dedicating their valuable time and energy to promoting and developing professional, quality child care and the success of AFCCA. The winner of AFCCA's Volunteer of the Year will be announced on Saturday during the lunch break.

Please add $25.00 to the on-site registration. We need your registration in advance to plan for workshops space and meal service.
