of Joining the
Alaska Family Child Care Association.
The Alaska Family Child Care Association is made up of family child care providers, making AFCCA a great source of information, support and networking among child care providers as well as years of experience and vast knowledge to that comes with each member.
Participating in AFCCA can help in the prevention of feelings of burnout and isolation through our many networking opportunities. Providers participating in our association also builds confidence, professionalism and a better understanding of the importance of the child care profession.
The AFCCA meets several times during the month to share ideas, providing our EduCARE Training Workshops, offering support, a chance to network with other providers as wells our board meetings. We offer our “For the Love of Kids” Newsletter containing pertinent information on training, activities, and child care issues as well as information for the food program and other agencies such as the grant program and licensing. We are here for providers to help them grow and learn and become professionals in their field.
By joint the AFCCA, providers will learn more about their profession from the Municipality, State and National level through information brought to you in your newsletter and training while serving as united voice and having our ears in and listening to child care issues.
As a member you will receive a newsletter containing information on AFCCA, licensing and legislative information and other important information concerning child care and family issues as well as those pertaining to the safety and benefit of all children.
The AFCCA sponsors the annual “For the Love of Kids” Training Conference. Members enjoy discounts to the conference as well as professional training and certificates, a chance to network with several providers from across the state, and sharing the sense of pride in the work they are doing in their field. Attending the conference will help providers to meet and/or exceed training requirements as well as building excitement and knowledge that can be taken back with you to your facility.
The AFCCA also sponsors the Alaska Family Child Care Food Program offering the USDA CACFP to participates to ensure a good nutritional foods are being offered to our children. AFCCFP also provides training in accordance with the federal requirements.
