AFCCA Volunteer Opportunities

The Alaska Family Child Care Association is currently seeking to fill several  volunteer positions.  If you are interested in becoming involved in the          Alaska Family Child Care Association on it's board or committees or just to  volunteer, please contact AFCCA by email at afcca@alaskafcca.org or come to a meeting and share your interest. 

    Announcing AFCCA Board of Director Elections

The Alaska Family Child Care Association is looking for individuals who are committed to AFCCA's Mission and dedicated to our organization's goals. 

  • AFCCA believes in supporting our greatest assets, our members, by advocating for family child care providers as well as supporting them and their business of caring for children. 
  • AFCCA also sponsors the USDA Child Care Food Program knowing the importance of nutrition for the children in our care.
  • AFCCA also promotes professionalism in the field of family child care and early education by providing educational opportunities,               networking, support and mentoring to family child care providers by family child care providers. 
  • AFCCA holds an annual "For the Love of Kids" Child Care             Conference each year that supports our continued mission of            promoting and developing quality professional home based child        care throughout the state of Alaska.
  • AFCCA also celebrates annual events such as Provider Appreciation Day (National Day held the Friday before Mother's Day), For the        Love of Kids Day (celebrating AFCCA's Anniversary), Volunteer of     the Year (Recognizing AFCCA's Volunteers), Provider of the Year       (Recognizing outstanding family child care providers), and more. 

AFCCA holds it's annual Membership Elections in June each year.  Board members are elected by AFCCA's membership.  Chapter and committee chairs are appointed by the President.  Board terms are for three years each and are staggered to that AFCCA can retain experienced members throughout the election process.  Board term begins on July 1st and ends june 30th.
